We are delighted to announce that Meyer de Waal, director of MDW Incorporated, has been invited to serve as a panelist at the 2024 WCPDF Conference.

The conference, scheduled for 8 May 2024, will host a panel discussion on the intricacies of housing delivery, exploring the challenges and solutions within the industry.

Insightful Discussion on Housing Delivery

Meyer, a seasoned conveyancer and property law expert, will share his expertise and insights during the panel discussion.

He will delve into the innovative strategies employed by MDW Inc, particularly focusing on the “My Bond Fitness Programme.”

This program, pioneered by Meyer, aims to educate and empower prospective homebuyers, guiding them towards financial literacy and creditworthiness.

The My Bond Fitness Programme was instrumental for the Mill Park Rent To Own housing project in Bredasdorp, developed by the Department of Infrastructure, Cape Agulhas Municipality and ASLA Construction – click here to read more.

Empowering Homebuyers Through Education

The My Bond Fitness Programme is designed to break down barriers hindering individuals from entering the property market.

By providing education, legal assistance, and mentoring, the program equips the market with the tools necessary to meet banks’ requirements and successfully apply for home loans.

A home ownership programme for the employees of CETA located in 9 Provinces was also launched on 13 March 2024.

Enriching the Dialogue on Housing Issues

The panel discussion, scheduled for Session 3 on Day 1 of the conference, promises to be insightful and thought-provoking.

Prof Ivan Turok will facilitate the session, which will also feature discussions on topics such as National Land Value Capture in particular the challenges this has revealed within municipalities, Urban Think Tank Empower’s work around public housing in Cape Town, challenges related to heritage and the Urban Development Zone, and innovations in financing, including insights from the insurance industry.
