To keep up with inflation certain adjustments were made in the Administration of Estates Act. We just received notice that as from 24 November 2014 the limits of various sections were amended in the Administration of Estates Act.

• Section 18(3) This is applicable for estates with a value – previously under R120 000.00 – now raised to R250 000.00 • Section 80 Restriction on alienation or mortgage of immovable property by a natural guardian, tutor or curator – also increased to R250 000.00 • Section 90(1) Payments to natural guardians, tutors and curators – also increased to R250 000.00
