Meyer De Waal, a practising attorney and director of MDW Inc (1998/23947/21), was admitted in 1988 as an attorney, conveyancer and notary in Cape Town.
Meyer used his legal and conveyancing background and gathered inspiration to start Rent2buy, My Budget Fitness, Consumer Housing Education and My Bond Fitness from his company’s participation in raising funds and subsequently constructing houses in the Mfuleni township project and this led to ground-breaking home ownership education programmes for the employees of African Bank and also a home ownership education programme for a tenant base of almost 13 000 Just Property tenants.
The challenges that these potential home owners had to overcome in order to acquire their homes, together with establishing a track record and maintaining such, planted the seed for Meyer to find a creative solution. This led to collaborations with the Department of Infrastructure, various local Municipalities, property developments as well as Petra Mines in Koffiefontein to provide housing traditional and innovative solutions.

Debbie Webber, a practising attorney and director of MDW Attorneys (2015/075336/21), was admitted in 2014 as an attorney in Cape Town.
Prior to being admitted, Debbie was a founding member of various commercial businesses and remains on their boards as a Director and legal counsel.

Jan Pretorius

Jan gained his expertise inter alia as a Senior Estate Controller at the Master of the High Court in Bloemfontein and distinguished himself with merits awards.
He commenced practical legal training as a candidate attorney with Symington & de Kok in Bloemfontein where he started practicing as an attorney in 1985.
He later opened his own practice as an estate expert in Pretoria, specialising in the administration of insolvent, deceased and curatorship estates, drafting of wills and trusts. He also acted as director and non-executive director in companies associated with a listed company and holds office as Trustee in various Employee Trusts.
Jan currently acts as a director on a fiduciary company and is a consultant to various firms of attorneys in respect of the drafting of Wills and administration of estates. He has now consolidate his expertise on a permanent basis as a consultant with Meyer de Waal, friend and colleague for over 44 years.
